Social Responsibility

Western Copper believes we must be good corporate citizens, employ ethical business practices and engage with proximate communities, businesses and governments to be consistent with the goals of social responsibility.

We will work in partnership with Yukon and First Nation governments and local governments, employees, contractors and suppliers, other stakeholders and interest groups, and the public in general with the objective of creating lasting benefits.

We believe that our projects can make a significant and positive contribution to the well being of the people living in the provinces or territories in which we operate. We are committed to providing opportunities to generate wealth and to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

Community Engagement

Western Copper is committed to respect the people who live near our projects, including their rights, languages, cultures and livelihoods.

The company believes that its future operations can provide opportunities and long-lasting benefits for nearby communities while respecting traditional livelihoods and land use. This can be achieved by building a relationship based on respect that is open, fair and allows for the mutual exchange of information.

Western Copper will work with First Nation governments in designing and conducting consultation that meets the needs of their communities and respects the rights and traditions of First Nations.
