Redstone Project Updates
Redstone - Field Program (July, 2010)
Western Copper commences the 2010 field program at Redstone. This year’s field program will be focused on the Coates Lake area based on the findings of last year’s field season. The Mineral Deposits Research Unit of UBC mobilized to the property on July 4th and will remain at site until the end of the summer.
Redstone - Research Project (September, 2009)
Western Copper completes initial field portion of exploration program and additional field work will be undertaken during 2010 and 2011. The 2009 field season was successful in identifying new tools to aid in both the development of existing copper deposits and to help identify areas of exploration potential in the region. A 3D modelling program of the regional geology and many other scientific studies are continuing with our research partners.
Redstone - Field Program (June, 2009)
Western Copper commences the geological modeling program. The project entails field based studies and mapping of known deposits supported by the examination of historical drill core and data. The Mineral Deposits Research Unit of UBC mobilized to Yellowknife and to the property to begin field work.
Redstone - Research Project (May, 2009)
A research project is being undertaken in partnership with the University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta and the Northwest Territories Geoscience Office in order to more fully understand the nature of mineralization throughout the Redstone Project area. Understanding and characterising mineralization in the area is critical in building geological models which are used in exploration for new copper deposits. The improved understanding of the geology of the area will lead to more efficient and effective exploration – a valuable asset when working in the remote Mackenzie Mountains.
Redstone - Research Project (December, 2008)
Western Copper continued to work with the Mineral Deposits Research Unit at UBC through the year.
Redstone - Research Project (September, 2007)
Western copper Corporation signed an agreement with the Mineral Deposits Research Unit at the University of British Columbia (“UBC”) to fund a research project that will aim to provide a better understanding of the regional geology and to identify areas covered by the Company’s existing claims that offer the most exploration potential.
